On May 7th ESCC constituents elected a new county council, there were a mix of results with Reform UK just 4 seats short of a majority, whilst the Conservatives lost 24 council seats leaving them with just 3 councillors.
Labour:
Labour lost all 5 seats they previously held on East Sussex County Council, leaving them with 0 council seats. No councillors were re-elected.
Conservatives
The Conservatives had a majority on ESCC being the leaders for 29 years, since 1997. Only 3 of their councillors were re-elected meaning a loss of 24 council seats, leaving them with only 3 council seats.
Liberal Democrats
The Liberal Democrats made gains in the recent elections going from 11 council seats to 13 council seats, surpassing the Green Party.






Reform UK
Reform UK are the clear winners in the recent elections on ESCC, gaining a massive 22 seats, Reform UK previously held 0 seats. Just 4 seats short of a majority they are the largest party within the council.
The Green Party
The Green Party also made impressive gains in the elections, going from just 4 seats to 11, gaining 7 seats in wards across the county.
